Can you unsend an email in Gmail after 30 seconds?

No. Once the undo window expires, Gmail delivers your email. You cannot recall email in Gmail after delivery. Your only options: send a correction, contact the recipient directly, or ask them to delete the email. Gmail doesn't offer email recall after the timer ends.

Why is my Gmail undo send time limit only 5 seconds?

Gmail defaults to 5 seconds. To change it, open Gmail on desktop and click Settings in the top right corner.
Select "See all settings." Find "Undo Send" and change the send cancellation period to 20 or 30 seconds.Save your changes.
This setting only works on desktop, not on mobile apps.

Does Gmail undo send work on mobile apps?

Yes, but with limits. The Gmail app gives you 5 seconds to hit undo. You cannot extend this timer on mobile.
If you send important emails from your phone, use Schedule Send instead. Pick a date and time to send your email. This gives you more review time before the message goes out.

What's the difference between Gmail undo send and Outlook email recall?

Gmail undo send delays your email before sending. If you click undo in time, the email never goes out.
Outlook recall works differently. It tries to delete an email after delivery. This only works if both parties use the same Exchange server. Gmail's approach works better because it stops the email before it leaves.

How do I stop sending an email to the wrong person?

First, extend your gmail undo send time limit to 30 seconds for a safety window.
Second, use Schedule Send for important messages. This gives you hours to double check recipients.
Third, try an AI email assistant like Revo. It helps you draft accurate, context-aware emails before you hit send.
